Stem cell therapy for pain

Regenesis: A Holistic Approach to Your Quality of Life

By Dr. Charles Lee, Regenesis Stem Cell Center

At Regenesis, we take a holistic approach to patient quality of life. We are a national leader in improving joint function and reducing joint pain. We use precision image-guided complex injections of your stem cells (autologous) harvested from your bone marrow and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) concentrated from your blood (Interventional Orthobiologics).

Following a two to four-hour-long outpatient procedure, our regenerative medicine clients return to daily activity in two to three days. Our clients typically report greatly improved quality of life as measured on the Visual Analog Scale VAS (see VAS Scale) and one of six orthopedic outcome scores at their scheduled one-, three-, and six-month follow-ups.

VAS Pain Scale for Orthopedic Pain

For example, clients seeking relief from a knee injury or osteoarthritis of the knee report significant improvement. Before therapy, typical clients report VAS scores from 2 to 10, with an average VAS of 6.3, severe pain. Clients report far lower pain levels at their one-month follow-up, typically ranging from 0 to 6, with an average of 2.3 mild pain. By the end of six months, most patients report 0, no pain, with an average VAS score of 1.3 very mild discomfort. Studies have shown that joint health continues to improve post-procedure for 24 months.

Many of our clients now turn to Regenesis for preventative therapy to avoid the discomfort, lost quality of life, and cost of advanced disease. For example, to reverse minor joint damage and pain, active clients bank their PRP with Regenesis for use during quick touch-up injections that require only 15 to 30 minutes. In terms of expense, such touch-up treatments cost less than $1,000, while therapy for advanced joint disease of the feet, knees, hips, hands, elbow, and shoulder typically costs $6,000 to $8,000 at Regenesis. For this reason, our clients understand the benefits of preventative measures to avoid reduced quality of life and forestall the need for expensive solutions or invasive procedures such as fusions and joint replacement.

In addition to Interventional Orthobiologics, Regenesis employs other advanced technologies, such as non-invasive and painless electromagnetic stimulation, to regenerate muscle tone and strength. For example, Regenesis EMSELLA therapy benefits male and female patients seeking relief from urinary and fecal incontinence, improved reproductive health, or both. In a single 30-minute session, EMSELLA stimulates thousands of supramaximal contractions of muscles in the pelvic floor. This therapy strengthens pelvic muscles, allowing clients with type 1 incontinence to greatly improve control over their bladder and bowel function.

EMSELLA can also positively affect reproductive wellness and intimate relationships for men with ED and women suffering from reduced libido, reduced sensitivity, and decreased lubrication. EMSELLA is a non-invasive, Walk-in, Walk-Out treatment.

Following treatment with EMSELLA, 95% of patients report improved quality of life and a 75% reduction in pad use. In particular, patients are much less likely to report an intense or frequent urge to go and fewer instances of leakage associated with coughing, laughing, sneezing, or exercising. Typically, EMSELLA treatment takes about 30 minutes twice a week for three weeks for a total of six sessions. With EMSELLA, patients remain fully clothed and can gain significant quality of life and sexual health benefits for less than the cost of a year’s worth of supplies associated with incontinence.
